Here’s what I have learned:

1. All men are evil.
2. All men are rapists.
3. All men are evil rapists.
4. All men are evil raping rapists who only live to rape.
5. If you have a penis, then you are guilty of something. Unless you wake up one day, decide you hate your penis, and have it chopped off and replaced with a surgically created vagina.
6. If you have your penis chopped off and replaced with a surgically created vagina, then any and all reprehensible actions you have ever committed are immediately forgiven, and you are elevated to “HERO” status for striking a symbolic, yet meaningless victory against the “white male patriarchy.” This is called the “Bradley ‘Chelsea’ Manning effect.”
7. If one lone mentally ill nutjob throws a temper tantrum and kills a woman, then this is complete, 100%, irrefutable proof that all men are evil and should all be executed.
8. If you deny being a misogynist fuckwit, then that is to be taken as proof that you’re a misogynist fuckwit, otherwise you wouldn’t need to deny it.
9. If you don’t deny that you’re a misogynist fuckwit, then you’re obviously a misogynist fuckwit.
10. Just accept that you are a misogynist fuckwit, you misogynist fuckwit.

Federal judge rules Texas gay marriage ban un-Constitutional http://darthapathy.com/2014/02/federal-judge-rules-texas-gay-marriage-ban-un-constitutional/ http://darthapathy.com/2014/02/federal-judge-rules-texas-gay-marriage-ban-un-constitutional/#comments Wed, 26 Feb 2014 20:03:49 +0000 http://darthapathy.com/?p=82 Anyone who’s known me for more than five minutes knows that I don’t give a damn about the gay marriage debate. In fact, I don’t give a damn about the marriage debate at all. One should not need the approval of others to solidify his/her relationship.

That said, these anti-gay marriage laws are un-Constitutional. They are a clear violation of the 14th Amendment.

Now, I know the pro-Christianist fascists will proclaim that gays have the right to marry someone of the opposite sex just like everyone else, but, like all things Christian, it is a serious logical fallacy. Whereas non-gays get to marry the ones they love, gays are denied that same right in a majority of states. How is this in any way equal under the law? No Christianist has ever been able to answer this question because their ridiculous book of fairy tales says, and I quote:

“If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.” (Lev. 20:13)

This statement is upheld by Jesus, Mary’s illegitimate bastard himself (yes, I know I’m being redundant), by stating:

“17 Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:17-20)

So, go on. Lie to me. Tell me that God loves everyone, when even his own propaganda book says differently. I dare you.

And now for something different http://darthapathy.com/2013/10/and-now-for-something-different/ http://darthapathy.com/2013/10/and-now-for-something-different/#comments Mon, 14 Oct 2013 07:40:24 +0000 http://darthapathy.com/?p=66 My last few posts about animals have been pretty downbeat, so here’s something on a lighter note. Really, I don’t. And I’m speaking as a gay man. Being gay is as much a part of me as my own sense of humanity. To say that I’m proud of being gay is about the same as saying I’m proud of having a heartbeat or of breathing oxygen. It’s simply part of who I am and nothing more. How does having a bunch of scantily-clad nelly queens or uber-butch leather daddies prancing about on a parade float embody any form of pride?

The days of “I’m here! I’m queer! Get used to it!” have been over for a long time. How about we try “I’m here! Let’s get along!” Or rather, to use a common colloquialism, “you attract more bees with honey than with vinegar”. Being disagreeable for the sake of being disagreeable accomplishes nothing more than alienating potential allies. It’s entirely possible to disagree without being disagreeable. As a culture, we Americans spend way too much time and energy focusing on what makes us different, rather than on what makes us the same.

Yes, I understand the Christian oppression of anything gay. Let’s just say I’m intimately aware of it and leave it at that. Rather than being confrontational and stoking the fires of hate and intolerance, we can show people that gays are just like everyone else: we wake up, we hug our loved ones, we go to work, we come home, we hug our loved ones again, and we go about our lives, bringing harm to no one.

Yes, there will always be Christians like Fred Phelps and his clan; that, unfortunately, is unavoidable. There will always be those who value hate more than humanity. In my experience, ignoring them is the best thing to do; it deprives them of their so desperately sought martyr complex.

In short, be yourself, but don’t go out of your way to rub it in other people’s faces. As someone once said, “Can’t we all just get along?”

Defining evil http://darthapathy.com/2013/09/defining-evil/ http://darthapathy.com/2013/09/defining-evil/#comments Mon, 23 Sep 2013 11:39:13 +0000 http://darthapathy.com/?p=52

“Compassion for animals is intimately connected with goodness of character: and it may be confidently asserted that he who is cruel to animals cannot be a good man.” – Arthur Schopenhauer

I generally like animals more than people, mainly because animals are honest. One knows where one stands with them; if they like someone, they show it. If they don’t like someone, again, they show it. The same cannot be said of most people.

I’ve had pets all my life, with the exception being the time I was in the military. It was mostly dogs, but there have been numerous cats, a couple of ferrets, a few rats, even a rabbit along the way. Almost every single dog I’ve had, with one exception, has been friendly and well behaved; Reno, the loveable 180-pound Great Dane who thought he was a lap dog, was the most memorable for a number of reasons.

The feeling tends to be mutual – animals love me. I think it’s because they instinctively know that I’d never willingly harm them (unless survival is at stake). I cannot comprehend why people would abuse their pets, or animals in general. Enter my general dislike of humans. Humans can be vicious, cruel monsters. You can see evidence of the way we humans treat each other just by turning on the evening news. Hell, you don’t even need to do that; just take a walk around town.

We’re not a very considerate species, now are we? Granted, some people deserve the treatment they get, some do not. Animals do not. People who abuse animals, especially their pets, are the lowest of the low – right down there with rapists and people who abuse children. These people are truly evil, and sometimes we get reminders of what evil looks like.

This story about a poor puppy, originally known as “Puppy Doe” and has since been identified by her original owner as “Kiya”, is one such example. The injuries inflicted on this puppy give testament to the very definition of depravity. I cannot shake the feeling that the sick and twisted person who did this will graduate to humans, if he or she has not already done so. I can only hope the person responsible is found and his or her predations are put to an end.

A happy home http://darthapathy.com/2013/09/a-happy-home/ http://darthapathy.com/2013/09/a-happy-home/#comments Thu, 19 Sep 2013 10:14:16 +0000 http://darthapathy.com/?p=47 Yesterday, I wrote about an abandoned pit bull that had been hanging around the building in which I work. This pit bull, whom we affectionately named Rufus, was a very friendly. very well-mannered pooch. Despite being malnourished and obviously hungry, he never became hostile, and gratefully accepted the food and water we had been putting out for him. The only time he ever came close to being off-mannered was when one of us was walking into the building with a bag from Jack in the Box; Rufus followed that bag like it carried the most delightful of treats, but the most he did was aggressively sniff at it. He never made even the slightest move to seize the bag.

Today, I am pleased to report that Rufus has a new home. A co-worker who owns some land north of Houston took Rufus home and will be taking care of him, and Rufus will get all the love and food he can stand.

“If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and man.” – Mark Twain

This is the principal reason I tend to like animals more than humans. More often than not, we treat our pets as we would treat members of our own families. This is a good thing, for the most part, and sometimes it’s not so good.

There has been a dog hanging around the building in which I work for the last couple of days; each day, he looks more pitiful than the previous. What makes this sad is that this dog isn’t feral or a stray. He’s very friendly and sociable, obviously very comfortable around people. My co-workers and I have been putting out some food for him to eat, which he did. Greedily. We’ve even taken to calling him Rufus.

We are hoping to find a home with a loving family willing to take in and care for this sweet dog. If you or someone you know in the Houston, Texas area are willing to take him in, shoot me an email at darthtechie (at) gmail (d0t) com.

Let me introduce you to Rufus.

Rufus
