Respectfully, I’ll see your Deuteronomy 28 and raise you Leviticus 20:13:

13 If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

The Bible and MANY preachers I have known in my life have made it abundantly clear that I am not welcome at church, or even on this world. As one pastor so eloquently put it “The Salvation of Christ is not open to fags.” This is a sentiment I’ve heard echoed hundreds of times throughout my nearly 40 years on this world.

The typical comeback is that Jesus abolished that code. This represents a gross misunderstanding of Jesus’ views. Jesus himself said in Matthew 5:17-18

17 Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
18 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.

In other words, Jesus made it quite plain that if you didn’t follow the old laws, he was going to deny you entry into heaven. I think this puts the absurdity of infinite forgiveness and the “Jesus is love” meme to rest.

Claiming to be an agnostic and intelligent, have you read the scriptures?

I was once an agnostic, and was (and am) honest. I would not become a Christian until three (3) things were proven to me, even that God exists, that evolution is a fallacy, and that the Bible is credible. When they were proven to me to my satisfaction, and after I heard the gospel, I became a Christian.

Regarding your article, if you don’t have the time to read the scriptures, you might consider one chapter of them, even Deuteronomy 28.
