McCain-Feingold Anti-Free Speech act in effect
Yesterday was the starting point of the two-month barrier in which media cannot criticize incumbent politicians during this election cycle. Taking a cue from a few other bloggers, I’m offering up space on this blog for any and all political ads – free of charge. Sadly, I can’t host video or audio, but the offer [...]
Attention Spammers
Just a little word of advice: When attempting to spam someone’s blog, make sure you’re not spamming from a server owned by the company for whom the person you are spamming works. Our abuse dept. has been notified. Have a nice day.
I’m still here
A lot of issues having to do with work, school, and home life have kept me very busy, and I haven’t had much time to devote to blogging. When things settle down, I’ll be back to regular posting.
Lack of posting
Yeah, I know things have been kind of slow here for a while. I was busy for a short time, then, after that, I’ve been really too tired and, to be honest, too lazy to post anything here lately. And, frankly, I’m tired of listening to the Theocrats Republicans and the Socialists Democrats attempting to [...]
Relentless spammers
In the last 24 hours, this blog has been hit with more than 80 spam comments generated from some asshat in Amsterdam. Rather than have to manually clear all that out of the Akismet spam filter I’ve been using, I’ve made a yet another change to the blog template. Word verification is now needed to [...]
Spam-Free…mostly
Well, since I added the new spam filter the other day, it’s caught a veritable torrent of spam. Only one piece of spam made it though to the moderation queue. Registration will remain off for as long as the spam remains manageable.
Changes
I’ve made some changes to the backend of the blog – specifically, the addition of spam filters. Registration for comments is now turned off.
Lots of spam and a couple of changes
Well, the grand experiment has failed. There is an overabundance of spam in the moderation queue. Registration has been turned back on. In addition, Brian B. and Vulture 6 have been added as administrators to the blog for the time being, and will be holding down the fort until I get back. I’ll try to [...]
Changes
I’ve made some changes to the blog. To see if they take, I’ve turned of the registration requirement. If I go for a couple of days without being overwhelmed with Spambots, I’ll leave the registration turned off.
&*^%#(*&^% Spammers
Spammers certainly didn’t waste any time hitting the comments section. I turned off registration early this morning to make it easier for people to post comments. That action, apparently, was a big mistake. Registration for comments has been turned back on.
