Post-Ike Blues

Today is the first day back at work after Ike finished treating the Texas Gulf Coast region as its own personal Tina.  Downtown is open, for the most part.  There are still some places that traffic and pedestrians are not allowed to go.  The Chase Manhattan building does not look as bad in real life as it did in pictures. (In Edit:  I did some walking around yesterday and got to see the *other* side of the building.  There were more windows blown out than were intact.)

As for home, we are still without power, as is about 66% of the city.  There is no ETA on when the power will be restored.
