iWant an iPhone
Apple is releasing the much-hyped iPhone today, and there are lines in front of Apple Stores across the nation. I’ve seen the demos and the specs, and I have come to the conclusion that I really want to get my hands on one.
The iPhone is the quintessense of geekery distilled to its purest form and given physical form. This is not to say that I’m actually going to run out and grab one; the $500 price tag and the $60 wireless plan through AT&T are enough to keep even my all-consuming geekiness in check.
Besides, I already have a cell phone and an iPod, both of which work just fine. In my frugality, I can’t justify running out and getting another phone/iPod to replace those which I already have. Maybe when my currennt cell phone plan expires, I’ll consider laying down the cash for an iPhone. Until then, I’ll just have to make do with what I have.
