Confession
I must admit that I’m watching the Democratic takeover of Congress with a measure of fascination – much like you would watch a train wreck in slow motion. You know the disaster is coming, and you can see it long before it happens, but you just can’t seem to tear your eyes from it no matter how hard you try.
In almost record time, Democrats are on the path to break any and all campaign promises of civility, ethics. and bipartisanship. This is not to say, of course, that Republicans are the model of civility, but hey, they weren’t the ones campaigning on the premise of changing the tone in Washington, now were they?
I guess time will tell before we can determine the true cost of the Republican party abandoning the principles of conservativism.
