Do it. We dare you.
Dear Democrats,
Enough of the whining; it’s tiring. Over the last month or so, you have been whining that Republican obstructionism is blocking your ability to pass your so-called “health care reform” bill. While this rhetoric might work with someone who has been in a coma for the last year or so, it doesn’t work with people who are actually paying attention to facts. And the facts are these:
You have a very solid majority in the House.
You have a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate.
You have a Democrat in the White House who is pushing hard for healthcare reform, and is thus unlikely to veto any health care reform bill.
And you have a media that is carrying water for you at all levels, even preempting many of their regularly scheduled programs so that the Democratic president can run health care reform infomercials that no one has been watching.
And, the simple fact is, you can pass anything you damned well please, because you do hold such a strong advantage in all levels of the government and in the media. If you want, you can make gay marriage legal, you can repeal Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, and you can most certainly can pass your “health care reform” bill.
Simply put, you don’t need the Republicans to do what you want, so why all the whining? Pass your bills. Own them. Take responsibility for them. Or, is that the source of the whining?
Could it be that you all know that most Americans (more than 60% on almost all major polls) do not want government-run health care? Could it be that you need someone upon whom you can place blame when this whole debacle blows up in your collective faces, and that you may find yourselves out of a job come the next election cycle?
Do it. Pass your bills and face the consequences. We, the American people to whom you are accountable, dare you.
