Economic “stimulus”

Is it any wonder that every time Democrats gain control of the government, the economy tanks?

Case in point:  when Democrats took control of Congress back in 2006, they wasted no time in enacting legislation to increase the minimum wage, thus increasing the cost of companies to do business.  This increase in cost could have been ruinous to many businesses.  To combat this, companies were forced to reduce their workforce, thus increasing unemployment, which has a direct impact on the economy.

Today, we are being threatened with a Trillion dollar “economic stimulus” plan.  That’s “Trillion” with a capital “T”.  For comparison, the six-year long Iraq war has not come close this mark.  In his first month in the Oval Office, President Obama is already on track to surpass the excessive expenditures made by the previous administration.

This bloated bill is not so much about economic stimulus as it is payback to those with connections to the Democratic party.  As an example, $4 billion is slated to go to ACORN, an organization that has brazenly and repeatedly perpetrated vote fraud on behalf of the Democratic party.

Because of the reprehensible amount of pork in this “stimulus”, public support for this package, as well as support for President Obama, has taken a nosedive.

Then, of course, we have the daily scare tactics from Congress, saying that “If we don’t pass this, then really bad things are going to happen.”  In the latest scare attempt, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi stated that 500 million people per month will lose their jobs unless this stimulus is passed.  Video below:

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the U.S. population is estimated to be around 304 million, well short of the 500 million people who will lose their jobs unless we pay $1 trillion to Democratic allies.

Ayn Rand said it best:

Government “help” to business is just as disastrous as government persecution… the only way a government can be of service to national prosperity is by keeping its hands off.

Amen. Finally a voice of reason. If the government would just butt out and stop bailing out corporations, the economy would recover on its own.

P.S. Where the hell is my bailout?!
